Amelia Bertozzi-Villa earned her MPH from the University of Washington and Bachelor’s degree in Biology with honors and a minor in math from New York University. Prior to coming to IDM, Amelia worked as a Post-Bachelor Fellow at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, where she focused primarily on small-area estimation of mortality at the county level in the US. As part of IDM’s team Amelia will be configuring the Malaria models for Southeast Asian geographies, and working on HIV survival analysis. Before joining the world of public health, she worked in the culinary field as a pastry cook and a pizzaiolo. In addition to her role at IDM, Amelia teaches data science at UW’s Information School and volunteers with StudentRND to get teenagers excited about technology and programming.
